Today I had a ridiculous experience with an employee at the post office, who refused to sell me stamps because Paul had his bike with us. In the end Derek stayed outside with the bike and I was able to buy stamps from another employee. But really, it was ridiculous.
I started making a new blanket for Izaak. The one I started last year for Paul is almost finished and I was itching to start something new and use up a couple of skeins of yarn I have hanging around.
This weather! Today I wore jeans and a sweater.
In the last few weeks I have filled at least 8 bags for donation and thrown out at least that many. It feels good.
Izaak has perfected “No” and uses it often. At this point it’s usually cute, though. He shakes his head and hands, “No, no.”
My family is on a major Star Wars kick. Derek has never been a fan, until recently. Now he’s seen all the movies and will totally chat about it.
Street tacos on Sundays are my favorite summer family tradition this year.
We spent the first half of yesterday with good friends and the second half with Derek’s dad and it was a wonderful day. It felt like a real summer, the days go on forever, kind of day.
Words with Friends is the best game ever. I either win big or lose big. There are very few close games.
Paul put himself the bed the other night at 6:45. He wasn’t sick, just sleepy and wanted to go to bed.
Derek and I have a super-awesome date planned for next weekend and we cannot wait!
Sarah and I had dinner at her apartment last week. It was the first time I’d seen it and I totally loved it. It reminded me of one of mine and Derek’s old apartments, very nostalgic.
Pop music has made a major come-back in my life. I watch this this this this and this on YouTube all the time.
Paul does not like dogs. Izaak chases them.
I saw this on Pinterest and was completely fascinated, it’s a woman and her grandmother, both at age 20. (Although clicking through, it’s from Reddit.)
I am super sleepy tonight and am counting down the minutes to when both boys are in bed for the night. Then I’m grabbing my book and heading to bed!
